WIRING SYSTEM

Our trailers are wired specifically for motorcycles. We use a five (5) wire system. You do not need a converter. All lighting will be tested at the factory prior to delivery. We suggest you test all the lighting system to your female terminal (on your motorcycle) with a tester before plugging into the male terminal attached to the trailer.

It is essential the motorcycle be wired correctly before plugging into the trailer system. Incorrect wiring can blow fuses on your motorcycles. Blown fuses are an indicator of a problem. Wiring diagrams will be provided when you pick up your trailer. Wiring is offered at the factory. Check out our quick reference chart.

PROPER USE OF SAFETY CHAINS

Cross the safety chains under the trailer tongue. This allows the tongue to land on top of the chains if your coupler disconnects from the trailer ball and will not hit the ground.

SWIVEL HITCH

Check the rotation movement when you first get your trailer. This will help you know the amount of tightness given to the swivel hitch when the trailer is manufactured. This is the amount of tightness we recommend you maintain. The swivel hitch can be tightened or loosened. To do this turn the coupler over and remove the dust cap and cotter pin, tighten or loosen the nut, then replace the cotter pin and dust cap.

RACE, BEARINGS, SEAL & GREASE

The trailer is manufactured with a standard 1 inch bearing and race kit. Seal number or equivalent is12192VB or NOK# AF1836F0. The bearing number or equivalent is #044643 or L-44643. The race number or equivalent is L-44610. Always use a good high speed grease.

TIRES & WHEELS

The original tires are 480 X 8, B range, low profile tires. They are balanced when they leave the factory. Weights may dislodge due to road conditions. If you experience excessive bouncing you may need to have the tires and wheels re-balanced. Periodically check your lug nuts for tightness. When you replace the tires check the clearance. Increased tire size may not leave enough room for the suspension to work without damaging the trailer body.

TIRE PRESSURE

Start at 20 psi. Watch for even tire wear and adjust pressure as needed..

FLEXRIDE INDEPENDENT SUSPENSION

The suspension is stiff when you first use the trailer. The suspension will loosen with use.

HANDLE & LATCH

Apply pressure to the lid when opening and closing the lid. The lock should be kept snug. The hook may need to be adjusted periodically to keep the T-Handle and latch tight. This prevents excessive wear. Keep the T-Handle in locked position when the trailer is in motion.

BUDDY BEARINGS (BEARING PROTECTORS)

Bearing protectors keep grease inside the hub and water out. An overloaded outlet allows excess grease to escape if the hub is overfilled or excessive pressure is built up. A grease sert is readily accessible. There is no need to pop the hubcap and dustcap to grease the hub. Raise the wheel assembly off the ground and spin the wheel while pumping grease. Do not allow grease to go past the overload outlet.

JACKSTAND

Always put the jackstand up when the trailer is in motion. Leaving the jackstand down can damage the stand, spring, and/or welds.

TONGUE WEIGHT

Tongue weight when loaded should never exceed 40 to 44 pounds. After loading your trailer check tongue weight by placing a scale under the jackstand. Always check weight specifications given by the manufacturer of your trailer hitch.

REMOVING HUBCAPS

For easier removal of hubcaps place a flat object (such as a screwdriver) behind the hubcap clip position. This will help prevent excessive pressure that may result in broken clips on the hubcaps.
